Introducing Google eBooks [video]
We’ve been waiting for this moment 14 months – Google’s e-bookstore is now brought to life. Watch this beautiful birthday video – it highlights more benefits than a service can actually offer. All this cloud talk is like rediscovering America. Amazon, Kobo, Barnes&Noble have it.
I’m particularly disappointed with a lack of mobile browser reader, backward search functionality and non-existing option to add user’s own books. Virtual bookshelf is also about adding books to, not only from.
From a video:
“Google eBooks is all about choice.”
From a website:
“Although you’re welcome to read about Google eBooks, please note that Google eBooks are only available for sale to customers in the U.S. at this time.”
For a reader living in Europe it’s just another US-based e-bookstore. I would wait next 6 months to make a huge international launch – as promised.
